did you know that a whale has to say semi-conscious while it sleeps to regulate its breathing? i don't know if thats true but i heard it a few days ago.
so lots of animation tests lately... i've been heavily focused on refining my character acting and i think i'll post some of them here soon. it's a lot of tedium, focusing lots on walks and character gesticulation, but ultimately it seems to lend itself better to the visuals and, without good visuals... who even am i? hahaha just kidding. i still draw people like i did in kindergarten.
i'm slowly waiting for ideas to connect for the thing i mentioned in the last post. i seem to do that a lot, but i'm learning more to trust the process and allow things to naturally come together versus sitting down, floundering about with a blank page and hoping that maybe, just maybe, a stroke of genius will bang out a 60 page script. that never works. i don't think anybody should be doing that. it seems that the dumbest ideas that never seem like they'll turn into anything substantial swim around in my head for the longest time. maybe i should finally take the hint?
now i don't remember if i mentioned this at all but we were extremely lucky to have our broken 16mm camera replaced by another version of it back in May, and the thing still purrs nearly a century after it was produced. i do very much have to thank friend-of-the-studio john for that, he's quite a stand-up guy. i unfortunately have not been able to shoot a camera test this summer because, d'oh... i had such a ripsnortin' good time!!! (EXHAUSTING MEDICAL PROBLEM.) thankfully that has become managed(?) and i can get back to the camera soon. the film in the freezer is freezerburnt and i hope it hasn't spread to the inside of the container, deary me.
i thought the weather was getting nicer but then it was 80 degrees yesterday. window open one night, hot as hell the next. what's going on here? it's nearly october. let's get our shit together, ok?
soon i will upload "albatross", a comic that was here a long time ago but disappeared in an earlier iteration of the site. it's nothing very amazing, don't get excited. i am borrowing a few ideas from it though so it might help you gauge your excitement or disappointment. either way it's coming. prepare.
ok bye bye now

hello, it's been quite a while hasn't it?
i am in college now, so i have a little more work to do on top of my job, but i still continue to plug away with the little time i have. i am once again animating music and have a few ideas kicking around in the ol' noggin for a new thing but nothing in that department is really definite yet and requires a lot of thought.
i recently went to see "animation mixtape" at the IFC in nyc and it is fantastic. what a great show. here is a link to all current screenings. if you are a fan of animation, go check it out. if you are not a fan of animation, go check it out. i think there's a film there for everyone.
otherwise it wasn't a very eventful summer. healthwise i am better than i was. okay bye : )

hello, how are you? it's been a while!
i've just animated a bit of "nowhere fast" by the Smiths, and you can watch it here:
i'm also now scuttling about the third dimension now, getting used to placing my 2d art into a 3d environment... which is strange, to say the least, but makes for a very interesting medium that i've become increasingly comfortable with. expect something with this look very soon.
i try to keep the website as up-to-date as i can, but really, i'm too addicted to Twitter. in fact i'll probably update the main page with a live feed of tweets tonight. seems fitting.
thanks for your patience and all the love on the latest thing. despite weird health stuff, i think im back in my element. thanks especially to my close friends for supporting me, especially brandon and ruben. more to come. hugs and kisses : )
